The Wharf District
The wharf conjures imagery that goes back centuries, and is familiar all over the world. Wharfs have been central to the very livelihoods of people from tiny villages, to the largest empires. But today, the wharf is evolving and adapting into something different. It’s a place where those ageless buildings and characters still exist, yet alongside contemporary culture and society.
A place where the weather seems to be a central figure, always changing, never predictable. a place where the old and new exist in seamless harmony. Where a hard day's work is just around the corner from a great night out. Where some people are just passing through, while others would never want to leave. The Wharf District is a look into the past, a celebration of the present, and another stop on the modern trail.
At Timberland South Africa, we are particularly excited about the theme and the colours for this season. They represent the best of our beautiful country; our unpredictable yet beautiful weathers, our picturesque beaches and beautiful harbours in the coast; all this under the romantic African sky.
The sun is out, so let’s go out and explorer what could be one of the best summers ever!
We hear the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town is a place to visit this summer.
